We are W!

Grand Celebration for W Talents, when on March 27th, 2010, we held a special and exclusive ceremony that starts the mark of being a True W talent with the first ever W Pinning Ceremony.

The W Residence was transformed with snacks and beverages prepared by the C&B and with the help of a few elves we were able to put up a small exhibition throughout the event decorating the place with photos of our very own Talents in different ways, different emotions and different phases. All holding a moment or memory in our minds.
Talents squeaked and laughed when seeing pictures of themselves acting funny or crazy. But nevertheless smiles were set upon their faces.W purple pins (for talents who have not passed probation) were handed down from their Talent coaches by Lucky Draw, and the talent coaches were given their very own Silver pin (passed the probation).
A Birthday cake was prepared for those who had their birthday during October 2009 up until now, everyone gathered around a made a wish... (i bet many of them were "Hope our service charge hits the roof" LOL)
Charade was a hilarious game.

This was truely a great W Experience.

Beware the EHC !

The mighty EHC ~ be afraid, be very afraid.

"Preparation for EHC Audit"

EHC = Environmental Health Consultancy ...because Starwood recognizes the importance of providing safe food to their guests, associates and visitors.

That's why W Talents were coached on the importance of Food safety and were warned about the consequences that could happen. It made us aware of the possibilities of what could happen if we're not careful and to be more detail-oriented :) W Gossip Girl sure got loads of information that she could use in her daily life ^-^

With guidance from our EHC Champian - P'Jack, WKS will certainly pass the 85% mark, 90% would be great, 95% would be superb. W Gossip Girl knows "We Can do it!"

Beware ~ the AUDIT ...it'll come to us unexpected...no advance warning...

Fresh Talents @ W

March 15th 2010,

After the long process of selecting the right candidates to be part of the first W in Asia-Pacific, W opened its doors and welcomed Fresh Faces to the W team. The morning session was pure information about the hotel and about Starwood. Talents were also introduced to their talent coaches.

The afternoon session aimed for the talents to do some exercising after just sitting in the morning. Talents were shown the hotel's site, building and our mock up retreat.

Later the new talents were given a small celebration, to their arrival at W Retreat Koh Samui, on our very own edge of Wonderland.

Coaching with Sweet Ruth

At the end of the month of love marked the date of our first real coaching. K. Ruth flew in from Australia to give us a good coaching lesson on the Language and Lifestyle of W hotels. The session were long and tiring, but in the end we all came out a bit more closer and alot more wiser as we became a W Insider with wonderful insight to what makes W so wonderlust.

The coaching session started on February 27th 2010 for a period of 15 consecutive days with great knowledge and fun activities lead by the lovely Ruth.

Coffee Breaks were wild and crazy and gave the coaching a feeling of fun and games.

After long days of hard work it all came to an end on March 11th 2010. That night we all gathered at Bakubung for the Certificate Ceremony. With a special quest appearance by K.Sunny, the hotel owner and his family.

One by one the students (Talents) walked up to the Big giant W to receive a recognition of their hardwork. The outcome was superb with attitude being throw, laughter could be heard from afar and all left with smiles on their faces.

Happy Birthday to our Fantasy Controller!!! (10 June 10) WOW!

Who blows the candle? SLT team member arranged a surprise birthday cake for Khun Thanate after the WoW beginning. Pink Minnie Mouse cake was especially made for her celebration. What could Wow Khun Thanate better than Pinky, Money and Whisky!!!

Oops.. Who is she? A reborn Cleopatra?

The Story Begins [4-5 February 2010]

W Retreat Koh Samui's Journey started way back in the day when beaus and belles gather to create a magical wonderland. Our first big event introduced us to the world of Koh Samui, our Mass Recruitment.

Our mass recruitment was set for the 4th and 5th of February 2010. The place we held the recruitment was a first to the hotel world, with a bit a creativity it was agreed that Reggae pub would be the right place, where else could you have a wonderland, if not a pub?

Overall the mass recruitment was a success, with more than 300 candidates who chose to apply and be a part of this whimsical place. Though we started off a little bumpy, the days were long, and the weather was hot by the end of the recruitment those who took part in the event were happy with the results and after a long day at work...it was time for us to relax which we did just that @ Bakubung.
